Our Principal

Lynell Perry
Principal
I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Scotland Neck Elementary
Leadership Academy. I consider it a privilege to be able to join the staff of SNELA and
continue the amazing legacy of excellence that has already been established. I look
forward to working with stakeholders and the community to inspire achievement,
growth, and leadership in every student.
With enthusiasm and deep respect for the important work of education, I step into
this role committed to fostering a learning environment where every student thrives,
every teacher is supported, and our entire community works together toward
excellence.
I plan to equip teachers with the tools needed to empower students to have enriching
and engaging educational experiences through quality lessons. I am a transformational
leader who is student-centered and committed to preparing students for success in an
ever-changing world of learning and cybernetics.
In my immediate past position, I served as assistant principal at SouthWest
Edgecombe High School for three years. There I served with a dedicated team of
educators whose sole purpose was to enhance the lives of youth through inspiration,
motivation, and information. As an Educator, for the past 22 years, I have empowered
youth from all grade levels as an Exceptional Education Teacher for 15 years, High
School History Teacher for 3 years, and an administrative assistant principal for 4years.
My vision focuses on high expectations for all students and a strong foundation in
literacy and mathematics. By having rigorous, challenging, and engaging instruction
across all grade levels, we will see growth in our scholars. In closing, I plan to provide a
safe and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive successfully
academically, socially, and behaviorally.
